For this home project I plan to create another crochet tapestry. Like my last tapestry want to incorporate some 3d elements. Also, I want to try adding in the theme of unraveling the crochet to symbolise destruction. When creating the pattern, I think I will do 50 by 60 stitches, unraveling one of the bottom corners. An idea that I am considering is having an anchor tangled up in the hanging threads, as seen in my sketch below, to represent human interference in natural wildlife. The tapestry will depict an underwater scene, featuring some animals. I want to try and include a shark, because they have been severely impacted by human activity. My next step is to transfer my sketch onto graph paper and begin the process of recording the color-number codes of each yarn color in my spreadsheet while plotting it out with colored pencils on the graph paper.
