Summer project update (July)

I was able to get a lot of work done on my first project during July. First, I created an armature based on my drawing out of wooden skewers (1st image). I then used paper mache to build up the shape I wanted. (2nd image) This took a lot of layers, if I had done it again I would have made my base bigger so it took fewer layers. I made 80 legs for this project (3rd image) Starting with a toothpick base and then adding clay over the top. This was probably the most time-consuming part of this project. By the end of July, I had everything attached and was starting on the shell (images 4 &5).
